About Project
Project requirements

The Laceworks student accommodation complex is situated opposite the central train and tram stations just on the edge of the City Centre, and is ideally located to benefit from both main university campuses and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants, creating a perfect location for a luxury student residence with panoramic views over Nottingham.

The Laceworks development is 7 storeys in total with the 7th floor set back providing roof terrace access to many of the Studios on this floor. Bluespot® is proud to have been selected for the project, which included the manufacture, supply and install of 222 studio accommodation fitted with a bespoke kitchen area, study workstation and sleeping area.

The solution
Project Fulfilment

Bluespot® worked closely with its client Innov8DS, who are professional consultants specialising in the delivery of project, cost, development and estate management services based in Liverpool. As such, the Bluespot® project team worked closely with the contractor’s and site managers’ teams to ensure the manufacture and installation of all bespoke furniture were aligned with the build progress and timescales.

Bedroom furniture

Each of the 222 studio apartments were furnished according to detailed specifications to include a range of fitted and loose furniture, as well as soft furnishings.

Allowing for variations depending on the layout, each apartment was furnished with a double bed, complete with a deep flat top headboard, a bedside table with shelf and full height built-in wardrobe with frame clad panels.

Study area

The study area featured a deep study desk with a 25mm thick white desktop with silver goalpost legs, under shelf unit and back panel.

A 2m tall bookcase was installed with 3 drawers and 2 shelves, along with a 9mm thick ‘sundeala’ grey fabric covered pinboard. To match the colour scheme, Bluespot® stylish Harrow chair in light grey and beech wooden legs complemented the desk.

All of the furniture provided by Bluespot® was manufactured to our exacting standards from FSC-certified wood and protected by our long guarantees.

Kitchen area

Bluespot® fitted a modern and stylish kitchen featuring a durable and hardwearing 40mm white worktop with matching white kitchen cupboards, complete with a colour-coordinated dark grey glass splash back and stainless steel sink & mixer tap. A built-in fridge and combi microwave oven was also installed, as well as an extractor unit and electric ceramic 2 ring hob for a clean and convenient cooking area. To keep the look consistent throughout, a bar stool version of the desk chair was also supplied in light grey and beech wood legs.

As part of our complete FF&E service, Bluespot® also supplied and fitted a 40 inch TV as well a range of accessories including ironing board, freestanding waste bin, dust pan and brush!
